After reading this article I feel that the evidence presented is accurate. Small business utilize social media such as facebook and twitter rather than location based platforms such as foursquare. I agree with this, I dont feel that foursquare is yet fully developed as to be effective for business purposes. However twitter and facebook is a great platform for customer interaction and feedback.

In addition, it says that small businesses are going mobile. 66% of small business are using mobile platforms for either text messaging or mobile enabled email.

Comments were not enabled on this article, however, after being published for only a few hours there were 30 Likes on facebook and 71 retweets and shared on twitter. This relates to a positive feedback from consumers and a shared belief that social platforms supersede location based platforms.

Have you had the same question as I have had and wonder how does social media relate to sales?

Well a company called “SumAll” has found a way to show the relationship between your media platforms to sales. SumAll “focuses on engagement, such as how many people are clicking through on links, how many are looking at pictures and what sort of activities drives sales with existing customers versurs new ones.” One of their first beta customers “Diamond Candles” says 90% of their website traffic comes through social media platforms!

I liked that we had to create a LinkedIn account for this class. I think that this is necessary in coming into the business world, however, I did not like that we had to connect to random Marketing Professionals, when the site itself said to not link to anyone you do not know.

I think that the…

An online site that I actively follow is antsmarching.org. This site is used by those who are very interested in the Dave Matthews Band. DMB is one of my favorite bands, so I like to regularly check this site, and participate in the blogs and forums. Users of this site, regularly make their own…

I worked with Google AdWords a little last summer for my internship.  This video explains how and why Google AdWords is used for advertising.  It basically is a way of tracking how much your company is spending on having their words show up in ads when Google gives a person search results.  Each click costs a certain amount, and some words have very little attention to them, so these are constantly changed in a company’s marketing plan.

This is an interesting article. After Burger King and many other famous accounts have been hacked, security for these sites is about to be stepped up.  Social Media is becoming a more serious way to gain news and people rely on that news to be accurate everyday.  New Security measures should be in place.

This woman has an awesome British accent! Oh yeah, and she gives some good insights about what SMART Objectives are and why they are so important to businesses.  This was a term from Chapter 10 in our book, and was used in all of our business plans and social media marketing plans.
